B+W Headshot

Mikey Mason spent more than a decade as a full-time standup comedian. He headlined on all four coasts, performed multiple times each on NBC, at the legendary House of Blues, and the Hard Rock Casino. He even headlined the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas. But it wasn’t enough.
In 2011, he released a song expressing his geekier side (She Don’t Like Firefly) that went viral on YouTube and got him featured on Nerdist.com, SyFy, MTV Geek News, The Funny Music Project, DrDemento.com, and even Time magazine. Eight albums and three EPs later, his lifelong love for fantasy, science fiction, cats, video and role-playing games continues to inspire his music and help him evolve, not only personally, but musically and professionally.
Today his profession is creating art and music with geeky themes. His performances are fueled by his passions and sharpened by long years of experience as a stand-up comedian. He’s performed at theaters, bars, comedy clubs, casinos, colleges, festivals, and conventions across the US, hosted podcasts, exhibited at art shows, created a coloring book, and more, continually expanding his horizons as to what his next project will be.

"My dad had a great sense of humor, knew hundreds of jokes, puns, limericks, etc and would have LOVED your song!" -Cindy Gygax (Daughter of RPG luminary Gary Gygax)

"His voice is so awesome that we immediately ran to his website to check out his tour schedule."  -Carol Pinchefsky, SyFy's Blastr.com

Mikey does three very different shows. You might want to know which Mikey you're booking, right?

What are they?

1) Convention/"Geek" Show
Mikey does this show at conventions, gaming stores, house parties, etc... It's all material focused on his hobbies and passions: sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, role-playing games, video games, cartoons, whatever. It's generally rated PG to PG-13. This is the material that got him featured on Nerdist.com, SyFy's Blastr.com, Time Magazine's TechlandMTV's Geek News, The Funny Music Project, and even DrDemento.com!

2) Comedy Club/Nightclub Show
This is the show he performs at comedy clubs and nightclubs nationwide (and internationally.) The material ranges from PG-13 to R, and is an insane blend of stand-up comedy and music that intertwines and creates a cohesive show with a solid through line and transitions. It's the act that's allowed Mikey to headline on all 4 coasts (we count the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico, 'cause we don't discriminate,) appear multiple times on NBC and at the legendary House of Blues (in Dallas, TX and Myrtle Beach, SC,) at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, and more.

3) Music Show
There are rare occasions when he'll book a gig at a venue (usually a bar) and just play music, any music. Being a musician first and foremost, Mikey started out doing these types of shows long ago, and has many years of experience performing as both a solo artist and as the frontman for a band. He does quirky versions of other people's songs, originals--both funny and "serious"--whatever he feels like. He's been know to do modern pop songs in the style of Bruce Springsteen for a kick, cover the Gourds' bluegrass version of Gin and Juice, whatever he feels like. Honestly, there is no true example of this available online, so here's a link to a clip of Mikey and a friend doing drunken karaoke years ago. Not completely representative, but entertaining nonetheless...
